The preparation for Bacon Week has been so popular here at the Headquarters that the Staff charged me with creating a theme song for the week. I’m not sure who gives the orders around here; but,
I obliged.
So, dust off your guitar. Warm up the pipes - Doh-re-mi-fa-sol-la-ti-doh (all great Scrabble words by the way).
The song goes to the tune of Adam Sandler’s The Thanksgiving Song. If you need a refresher on his song, click here.
“Love to eat Bacon, love to eat B-A-A-A-con.
Bacon for us, bacon is great.
Let’s eat the bacon before it hits the plate.
Love to eat bacon, at the table;
I once saw a movie with Clark Gable.
Eat that bacon, all night long;
100,000,000 Bon Jovi fans can’t be wrong.
Bacon, lacon doo and bacon lacon dink;
I eat my bacon then I take a drink.
Bacon week - is a special week;
Rick James used to sing Super Freak.
That’s right.
Bacon with eggs, or bacon with tomatoes;
I dream of a winning season for them “O’s.”
Bacon for you and bacon for me;
Can’t believe Casey Anthony walked free.
Fried bacon, baked bacon, you just can’t lose;
“bacon is bad for you” is all a ruse.
Bacon around a scallop or all alone;
we all used to live without a cell phone.
Chop the bacon up and put it into a salad,
This song will be called, the Bacon balad.
Bacon on top of a deviled egg;
Heather Mills only has one leg.
Bacon for the elders and bacon for the teens;
My favorite pants are blue jeans.
sizzle, sizzle, sizzle, hear the bacon sing;
I wish bacon didn’t cost a thing.
Oh I love bacon on Bacon Week.
Happy Bacon Week everybody.”
My wife and I are advocates of “things wrapped in bacon”. Primarily this means seafood but we have found that you can wrap vegetables in bacon also. Our favorites are roasted brussel sprouts wrapped in bacon and scallops wrapped in bacon. In the town of Lambertville, New Jersey you can also purchase bacon flavored chocolate… wonderful. Just to let you know how important I consider the issue of bacon… I am commenting right now from a beach patio on the Greek Island of Antiparos.
You do consider bacon important – from a beach patio in Greece. Thanks for the comment.
